How a Job Comes Together

No surprises, no guesswork — just a clear process from first call to final walkthrough.

01

You Call or Message

Tell us the room, the surface, and what you have in mind. We ask the right questions so nothing gets missed on the estimate visit.

02

We Walk the Space

We measure, check the substrate for levelness and moisture, and talk through material options with you on-site before a number is written down.

03

Work Gets Done Right

Proper prep, correct adhesive for the surface type, consistent grout joints, and a final walkthrough with you before we pack up.

What Working With Us Looks Like

Walk through a real job, step by step.

Step 1 of 5 — First Call

You reach out by phone or through our contact form. We pick up or call back the same day. You tell us what you are working on — a bathroom remodel, a kitchen backsplash, a floor in a new addition — and we ask a handful of questions: How big is the space? What is the current surface? Do you have tile picked out or do you need suggestions? No pressure, just information gathering so we can come prepared.

Tip: A quick phone photo of the room before you call saves time on the visit.

Step 2 of 5 — On-Site Walkthrough

We come to you. We measure the space, check the substrate — whether that is a concrete slab, a wood subfloor, or existing tile — and note anything that needs prep work before tile goes down. If the subfloor has flex, we talk about it. If there is a moisture issue behind the wall, we talk about that too. You get honest information before any commitment.

Tip: Have your tile samples or inspiration photos ready — layout decisions affect the estimate.

Step 3 of 5 — Written Estimate

After the walkthrough, you receive a written estimate that breaks out labor, materials (if we are supplying them), and any prep work needed. Nothing is buried in vague line items. If tile removal or subfloor repair is required, it is listed separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for and why.

Tip: Ask us what happens if the tile count runs short mid-job — we plan for 10% overage by default.

Step 4 of 5 — Installation Day

We show up on time with the right tools for the surface type. Floors get a chalk-line layout snapped before the first tile goes down so the pattern centers correctly in the room. Shower walls get waterproof membrane applied to the niche and pan before any tile is set. We work clean and keep dust contained. At the end of each day, the workspace is swept and tools are staged out of your way.

Tip: Grout typically needs 24-48 hours to cure before foot traffic — plan accordingly.

Step 5 of 5 — Final Walkthrough

Before we leave the job, we walk through the finished space with you. We point out the grout lines, the transitions, the cuts around fixtures. If anything needs touching up, we handle it before we pack the van. We also give you care instructions for the grout type used — epoxy grout needs no sealing, sanded grout does — so you know how to maintain the work long-term.

Tip: Most grout sealers should be reapplied every 1-2 years in high-moisture areas.

Tile Work You Can Feel Confident About

Atlanta Tile Installation is a small, locally owned crew based at 824 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd in the West End. We focus on residential and light commercial tile work in the neighborhoods we actually live in and drive through every day.

Our work is straightforward: we show up when we say we will, we prep surfaces properly instead of cutting corners, and we set tile the way it should be set. That means checking for substrate issues before the first tile goes down, using the right thinset for the tile weight and surface type, and spacing grout joints consistently throughout the job.

We work in West End, Adair Park, Capitol View, and Mechanicsville — and the surrounding blocks in between. If you are in Southwest Atlanta and need tile work done with care, reach out.

Backsplashes That Change the Whole Kitchen

A kitchen backsplash is one of the higher-visibility tile jobs in a home. The material, the pattern orientation, and how cleanly the tile wraps around outlets and under cabinets all register immediately. We take layout seriously — snapping reference lines, dry-laying the pattern before adhesive goes down, and making sure the most visible section of wall is never the one with the cut pieces.

Shower Tile Done From the Pan Up

A shower that leaks is a shower that was not waterproofed correctly. Before any tile goes on a shower wall or floor, we apply a waterproof membrane to the pan and all penetration points. On curbless showers, the linear drain slope is set during the mud bed stage — not adjusted after the fact. The tile itself is the last step, not the first.
